There's foot tapping needed in the workplace!
Reserve a spot on the calendar for Jazzistry in your business year!
In the spring of 2000, several Brighton area businesses joined together
to sponsor a Jazzistry performance put on to the Brighton community. They
succeeded in their goal to garner support for Jazzistry in the schools.
In February 2001, Jazzistry performed three assemblies on Brighton High
School's Diversity Celebration Day for the entire student body and faculty.
"It was gratifying to see our students respond and so completely
appreciate a performance. Jazz is truly a unique art form and it was a
thrill to see our kids begin to get this concept".
Doreen Meffert, PTO parent, Brighton High School, Brighton
It's easy to take a jazzy leadership role!
By sponsoring Jazzistry, your partnership with this artistic educational
non-profit will get measurable and certain results. In 1987 the Joint
Houses of Congress declared jazz an American National Treasure. It's a
shared belief that commitment like yours can grow cultural awareness with
jazz, give an innovative twist to schools with jazz, and add an important
piece of history to an upcoming generation's perspective on America with
jazz.
Schools need help!
Elementary, middle and high schools across Southeastern Michigan are
interested in booking Jazzistry. As districts' art and music budgets shrink
or disappear, Jazzistry meets an even greater need. Our dilemma is that
schools' budgets and resources vary. A growing number cannot afford the
full $1250 performance fee even though it does not even cover the costs
of performing. To make Jazzistry accessible, we underwrite a portion of
the fee with a scholarship from a fund made up of foundation grants, corporate
sponsorships and individual gifts. Scholarship awards are based on need
and availability of funds. We are dependent on these generous contributions
to replenish this fund annually for schools in need and your gift is appreciated.
